Welcome back to another edition of Style Scouting! I’ve been diligently working on giving myself permission to embrace a slower pace, prioritizing rest for my hip. The countdown is officially on – just two short weeks until my new hip arrives! The anticipation is palpable. I eagerly look forward to getting back to what I love most: making, creating, exploring, and truly living life to the fullest. Imagine the joy of walking without discomfort, hitting the hiking trails again, paddling on serene waters, and feeling the wind on my face while biking. For now, thanks to Celebrex, I can manage about 10 minutes of walking or standing before it’s time for “ice, ice baby” – a routine I’ve become intimately familiar with! But I know these temporary limitations are paving the way for a much more active and vibrant future.
During this period of enforced slowness, I’ve been channeling my energy into more sedentary but equally productive tasks. My days have been filled with tackling backend blog administrative work, meticulously planning exciting holiday decorating projects for the upcoming season, and getting a head start on my holiday shopping – all from the comfort of my home, thanks to the magic of online retail. It’s been a surprisingly fulfilling way to stay engaged and prepared.
Beyond the practicalities, I’ve also made sure my Kindle is well-stocked with a diverse array of books. Diving into a good story has proven to be the most effective and enjoyable way to distract myself, preventing those unwelcome feelings of laziness or unproductiveness from creeping in.
