You’ll often find me venturing to the very end of a pier, seeking that perfect, unobstructed view of the shimmering surface, or leaning over a ferry’s railing, eager to feel closer to the aquatic world below. This intrinsic connection to water isn’t just a preference; it’s a fundamental part of my being, offering a profound sense of happiness and serenity that few other things can rival.

We reimagined it as a stunning stone fireplace with a custom mantel, ingeniously crafted from the top of a china cabinet hutch we no longer needed. This transformation not only elevated the aesthetic appeal of the living space but also created a cozy and inviting focal point, perfectly complementing our developing coastal theme.

Another ambitious undertaking involved removing a wall situated between the kitchen and dining room. This structural change, which previously stood where the arrow points in the photograph, was a game-changer. It instantly created a more open, fluid living space, dramatically enhancing the flow and connectivity between these crucial areas. More importantly, it effectively doubled our panoramic water views from both rooms, bringing the majestic beauty of Lake Murray even closer into our daily lives. While the patch on the floor still awaits its final completion, the impact of this open-concept transformation is already profound, contributing significantly to the bright and airy atmosphere we envision for our lake house.
