For crafting smaller, more finely detailed pom-poms, utilizing smaller scissors is highly beneficial. The finer blades enable more precise cuts, which are instrumental in shaping the yarn into a perfectly rounded and compact sphere.
How To Attach Pom Poms to a Basket for a Chic Makeover
- Mark Your Placement: To ensure your pom-poms are evenly spaced and create a polished look, use painter’s tape to mark consistent distances around the rim of your basket. This simple step will help you achieve a professional finish.
2. Thread Through the Basket: Take one of the two string ties from your pom-pom and carefully push it into an open section of the basket’s weave, ideally just below the rim. Then, push the second string tie through another nearby opening, directly under the first. If you encounter resistance, a small awl or the tip of a screwdriver can be incredibly helpful for guiding the strings through to the inside of the basket.
3. Tie and Trim: Once both strings are on the inside of the basket, tie them together securely in a tight knot. A double knot is recommended for extra durability.
