This placement meant that when a standard light fixture was mounted, its globes would inevitably overlap most of the mirror sizes available on the market. My hope was that the new, slightly shorter wood-framed mirrors would alleviate this long-standing issue.
We did attempt to turn the light fixtures so that the globes pointed upwards. This indeed prevented them from obstructing the mirrors, but the light cast a harsh glow directly onto the ceiling. For now, I’ll live with these bulbs, but I fully intend to either replace them with more attractive options or explore frosting the glass globes to obscure the unsightly filament. Instead, you can simply reuse the screws from your old hardware, ensuring a perfect fit without any hassle or delay. Once your room renovation is fully complete and all new fixtures are securely in place, then, and only then, can you confidently discard all the old hardware.
