Welcome back to another edition of Style Scouting, your weekly destination for discovering the most captivating and inspiring finds from across the web. Every Sunday, I meticulously curate a collection of delightful discoveries, ranging from innovative home decor ideas and engaging DIY projects to mouth-watering recipes and thought-provoking insights. It’s my way of sharing the random, yet wonderful, bits of inspiration that have truly captured my attention throughout the week, hoping they spark joy and creativity in your own life.

Thanksgiving table setting around the fire set with items from Old Time Pottery

Can you believe how swiftly the weeks are flying by? Thanksgiving is now just around the corner, a mere eleven days away! And as soon as we finish feasting on turkey and pumpkin pie, life will gracefully transition us into full-blown holiday mode. This truly is my favorite time of year. There’s an undeniable magic in the air – the joyful decorating that transforms our homes, the comforting holiday music filling every room, the delicious aroma of festive food, and the overall embrace of holiday style in every corner. It’s a season brimming with warmth, joy, and a unique sense of community.

This year, my anticipation for the holiday season feels even more profound than in previous years, and for several wonderful reasons. The most exciting news, and one that has me absolutely buzzing with delight, is that my older daughter and her husband, who have been living in Los Angeles for the past two and a half years, are coming home to stay with us for the entire month of December! This means I will have my two precious grandbabies around 24/7, creating countless opportunities for cherished “Mimi time.” I can hardly wait to soak up every moment with them, making new memories and reliving the magic of the holidays through their eyes.

My granddaughter, who is four and a half years old, has developed a wonderful love for making things, and her enthusiasm is absolutely contagious. Knowing she’ll be here for the entire month, I’ve been busy brainstorming a plethora of creative ideas for her. I envision her helping me with various aspects of holiday preparations, from adorning the house with handmade decorations to baking an assortment of festive treats that will fill our home with sweet aromas. I’m also planning simple craft projects that she can enjoy, fostering her creativity and giving us precious bonding moments. If you have grandchildren and have engaged in any crafting or baking activities with them that they particularly loved, please share your ideas! I’m always on the lookout for new and exciting projects to try with her to make this December unforgettable.
