My House: Paint Colors
This post is long overdue. I get many emails from readers asking me to post the wall paint colors in my house. I promised each of them I would get this posted soon. For all of you that have asked – thanks for being so patient.
The paint colors on the walls in my house are all on the lighter end of the color range. Ed and I have found with lots of trial and error that we like white and light colors on our walls. We know because we have painted many rooms over the years in a wide range of colors – light and dark.
Some of the wall colors that I used are custom made colors by me! To use up leftover paint, I have been known to mix leftover colors to get one gallon of paint in a new color I like. In the rooms where I did this, I looked through my paint chip decks from Glidden, Sherwin Williams, and Benjamin Moore to find a match to list here.
I use all brands of paint, a satin finish on the walls, and semi-gloss or gloss on the trim.
Trim Color
First floor: Sherwin Williams – Alabaster #7008, except in my Studioffice. It is Glidden Trim & Door paint in Extra High Gloss White GL-100
Bedrooms: Sherwin Williams – Antique White #6119
Front Door
Sherwin Williams: Dewberry #6552 Gloss

Foyer
Walls:

Stencil on walls – Glidden – White White Stencil Pattern on far wall: Large Marrakesh Trellis Moroccan pattern from Royal Design Stencils.
Dining Room
Walls:
Benjamin Moore – Shelburne Buff #HC-28.
Since painting the corner hutch turquoise and stripping the table and finishing it with a Driftwood Finish, I want to repaint this room soon. Not sure what color yet, but when I post about it, I will add it here.
Studioffice
Walls: Glidden – Pink Petal White

Cabinets: Sherwin Williams – Pure White #7005.
I have to paint the rest of the trim in the kitchen to match this. It is still the original to the house trim color – Sherwin Williams Antique White #6119. You can see it on the door.

Mudroom

The room is in the middle of a makeover that is not finished yet, but I wanted to include it in this post. I stripped the room down to the bare bones and have been working my way around it. I will have a few new photos to show you soon when the room is completed.
