Fall Candle Holders in an Instant

How to make DIY fall candle holders in a variety of sizes to decorate a mantel or table in minutes.

The arrival of fall is a little more than a week away. I want my home to be ready and have been upping the autumn decor in my living room, foyer, and kitchen to increase the comfy-cozy factor.

This year, instead of buying new items to decorate for the season, I am finding ways to reuse and repurpose what I already own in new and stylish ways. I call this process… Insta-Style.

Budget decorating tips and ideas for fall and autumn.

Are you thinking… What’s Insta-Style?

Insta-Style is a blog post series of simple projects (no tutorial needed) made by repurposing everyday items into something decorative in a matter of minutes.

Fast and easy decorating ideas with lots of style

You may not own the same items I show in the series of posts, but I am hoping that the ideas will inspire you to look at everything around you with new eyes and ask yourself…”what if ?” to come up with your own Insta-Style decorating solutions and ideas.

…Fall candle holders!

Made simply by repurposing items in different ways than they were originally intended to be used.

To make the fall candle holders, save glass bottles with nice shapes instead of throwing them in the trash or recycling bin.

I like to use white candles, but any color taper candle, short or tall can be used as long as the bottom has a narrow end that will fit into the mouth of a glass bottle.

Tall tapers can be placed further down into the bottle’s neck while shorter style candles can be pushed in about an inch to secure them.

Decorating my house for fall is not complete in my mind without a few candles around to light when the sun goes down late in the afternoon. They add just the right cozy ambiance to a room.

Where to Buy Taper Candles

Hobby Lobby and Michaels both sell a wide selection of candle sizes and colors.

How to Pour Popcorn Into Bottles

The easiest way to get popcorn into a bottle is to use a funnel. If you don’t own a funnel, roll a piece of printer paper to make a paper funnel to fit into the mouth of your bottle and then pour in the popcorn.

No Waste – Once the autumn season is over, you can put the popcorn back in your kitchen cupboard to use for its intended purpose – to provide a movie night snack on a cold winter night. :-)

What Kind of Popcorn Did I Use?

Popcorn usually can be found in white, blue or yellow kernels. I think the yellow kernels look more fall-like, but you may be able to find Indian Corn colors that would add a very nice touch of autumn colors to your decor. I needed 2 – 1 pound bags to fill my three bottles.
